Agile plans tend to expose unsupportable “wishes” early. Planning to actual capacity (capacity-based planning) is often a sobering experience because much less can be accomplished than early guestimates assume.

My friend, Weilian, discovered that the “Resize large images to fit in the browser windows” option has been removed in Firefox(FF) Options Window for Mozilla Firefox 2.0. Now, FF automatically resize large image to fit screen width. My friend dislike it. He want to view images in actual size. No problem. Here is the trick. Enter about:config in Firefox address bar. Enter browser.enable_automatic_image_resizing in Filter field. You will get a single result in the bottom pane. Double click it to change to value to false You’re done! Enjoy large images without FF disturb now!

Check out Kenji Arisawa's Pegasus (paper) webserver for Plan 9. Plan 9 may have a reputation for being C-only, but several langauges, including Scheme, Ruby, Python, and Perl have been ported. Check out the Contrib Index for the code. Finally, start reading the Plan 9 white papers so that you can understand its philosophy. If you want to do net-related things, the file protocol 9p is essential.

Pink Floyd wrote the music for the last 25 minutes of 2001, until Kubrick decided he liked the classical music cues, silence, and breathing better. As much as I love PF, I'd agree.

And then there's the Woody Guthrie license: "This song is Copyrighted in U.S., under Seal of Copyright #154085, for a period of 28 years, and anybody caught singin' it without our permission, will be mighty good friends of ourn, cause we don't give a dern. Publish it. Write it. Sing it. Swing to it. Yodel it. We wrote it, that's all we wanted to do."

A nice weekend trail that has some real fun stuff but also some very challenging spots. But for the most part this trail system has something for everyone. There is something to suit every skill level, Beginner to expert

This is a simple trail loop, running inside the forest preserve, has some moderate grade/slopes and go across nice picnic groves/agriculture field/lake. Almost 9 miles if u complete the circle. http://www.fpdcc.com/downloads/pc_trailmap.pdf

Deer Grove has some gnarly trails for being up north. Tons of unmarked trails leading from marked trails. Unmarked trails run along creek with lots of washouts along the way. Lots of roots, rocks, and fallen trees. Fairly technical riding. Nice elevation changes throughout. For less technical turf, there are paved trails that are marked.

Pretty short trails, used to be more but they were closed in the name of natural area restoration. This place has hills, pretty long climbs for illinois. A Short loop of singletrack, not enough to spend all day on but enough to pass an hour or so on before you get board.

About 12 miles of short grass trails shared with hikers and horses. Some dirt trails in the trees. Nothing too complicated, most riders can make it up all the hills. Wildlife consists of deer, hawk, fox, wolf. I've seen the first 2 almost every time I ride, the last 2 are seen at night mostly and even more in the fall. It is not really single track and not really fireroad, but somewhere in between

If you had not certainly known the nature of piety and impiety, I am confident that you would never, on behalf of a serf, have charged your aged father with murder. You would not have run such a risk of doing wrong in the sight of the gods, and you would have had too much respect for the opinions of men. I am sure, therefore, that you know the nature of piety and impiety. Speak out then, my dear Euthyphro, and do not hide your knowledge.

The most destructive symptom of over-planning is the wrongheaded idea that being a Software Architect(tm) means drawing a lot of UML diagrams and handing them off to a group of developers in Bangalore. UML is great if you don't want to do any work; you just draw pictures of what it would look like if work was actually done. This is not only borderline laziness, it's also a recipe for disaster. You can't architect a real world application on a whiteboard. You must prototype it in code to gather data on the performance and design implications of the choices you are making. Otherwise you really have no idea if you're creating something that makes sense-- or if it's even possible!
